They only focused on distributing the dvds/blu-rays. A dub was created by Funanimation, but it did not focus on airing the show and attracting new fans. I believe if Mirai Nikki was marketed and released in the US market, such as airing it on Toonami, it would have gained more traction. So the question remains, if Mirai Nikki is so popular, how come it performed so poorly? Did it become popular years after it was released? Was it performing poorly during the time it ran?

Mirai Nikki also has very little official merchandise and had only one anime figure produced, which is no longer in circulation. This was a far worse performance than TokyoPop, because they did not produce any hard copies, nor did Viz Media even manage to get to volume 10.
